B. Braun strengthens local manufacturing of Compactplus in alignment with ISO 13485 quality requirements
Jakarta, June 8, 2026 – B. Braun Indonesia, a world-leading medical technology company headquartered in Germany, has officially commenced production of the Compactplus series at its manufacturing facility in Cikampek, Karawang, West Java. The series includes the Infusomat® Compactplus, Infusomat® Compactplus P, and Perfusor® Compactplus. This strategic move reinforces B. Braun's commitment to delivering world-class German technology combined with local production capabilities. The initiative aims to minimize medication errors and improve hospital workflow efficiency. This local production is supported by the Cikampek facility's achievement of ISO 13485:2016 certification following a successful audit by TÜV SÜD, confirming international quality standards for medical devices.
The primary advantage of Compactplus lies in its Drug Library feature, which ensures accurate dosing through an integrated digital system. The device supports full connectivity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) via the OneViewPlus platform. This technology allows healthcare professionals to monitor therapy in real-time, perform auto-documentation, and update medical data remotely without disturbing patients. All therapy data is sent automatically to ensure coordinated and safe monitoring.
"Indonesia is a priority market for B. Braun. The presence of locally produced Compactplus is a tangible manifestation of our global technology transfer to support hospital digitalization in Indonesia," said Rainer Ruppel, President Director of B. Braun Indonesia. "The ISO 13485 certification guarantees that every unit produced at the Cikampek facility meets safety and quality standards identical to other global B. Braun products."
To support medical personnel in dynamic clinical situations, Compactplus features an intuitive user interface and on-screen visual guides. This design aims to simplify device operation while reducing the administrative burden on nurses, allowing them to focus more on patient care. Currently, the Compactplus series has achieved a Domestic Content Level (TKDN) of 40% to 46%. This figure exceeds the government's minimum threshold and strengthens B. Braun's strategic role in the national medical device industry ecosystem. All operations remain compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards through CPOB certification from the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (Badan POM RI) and CDAKB from the Ministry of Health to ensure the safety and quality of every device produced.
With over 66.000 employees across the globe, B. Braun is a leading medical technology company that aims to protect and improve the health of people around the world. For more than 180 years, B.
