Jakarta, August 21, 2025 — B. Braun Indonesia reaffirmed its active role in supporting the development of Indonesia’s healthcare system through its participation in the official visit of German Foreign Minister Dr. Johann Wadephul. The two-day event, organized by EKONID (German-Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry), took place on August 20–21, 2025.
On the first day, B. Braun Indonesia joined a roundtable discussion moderated by EKONID Executive Director Jan Rönnfeld themed “Localization, Regulatory Requirements and Sustainable Transformation – Perspectives of German Industrial Companies in Indonesia.” The session explored long-term cooperation opportunities under the EU-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. Mr. Rainer Rupel, Managing Director of B. Braun Indonesia, was among the speakers, emphasizing the importance of the medical device industry in driving sustainable transformation within Indonesia’s healthcare sector.
The second day continued with a visit to Poltekkes Jakarta 3, where the German Foreign Minister met with Indonesia’s Minister of Health, Mr. Budi Gunadi Sadikin. During this visit, B. Braun Indonesia showcased its locally manufactured innovation, the CompactPlus infusion pump. Indonesia is the only country outside Germany authorized to produce this device, marking a significant milestone in technology transfer and local manufacturing capacity.
The CompactPlus infusion pump features a drug library system as part of its Drug Error Reduction System (DERS), designed to minimize medication errors and enhance patient safety and healthcare service quality. Recognition of B. Braun’s product quality was also expressed by Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, who noted that the brand is widely known and trusted among hospitals in Indonesia.
B. Braun Indonesia’s presence in this event reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to advancing healthcare technology in Indonesia and strengthening bilateral collaboration between Germany and Indonesia in medical education and healthcare services.
