Company Visit STIKes Holistik Purwakarta to B. Braun Indonesia: Embracing the Future of Pharmacy.
More than 20 students from the Diploma in Pharmacy program at STIKes Holistik Purwakarta visited the production facilities of B. Braun Indonesia in Cikampek, West Java, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. This company visit aimed to provide insights and a work overview at B. Braun Indonesia for students in their final year of study.
During the visit, B. Braun Indonesia opened opportunities for students to participate in internships and pursue careers at the company. With the commitment to "Sharing Expertise," B. Braun Indonesia's team provided in-depth information about the company profile, human resources, and operational excellence at B. Braun Indonesia.
The students were taken on a tour to see B. Braun Indonesia's production facilities that utilize renewable energy. B. Braun Indonesia has installed a 1.2 MWp solar power plant at its factory in Karawang, which can meet up to 30% of the factory's energy needs. The use of solar panels not only reduces dependence on fossil fuels but also lowers carbon emissions by 25%, equivalent to 346 tons of carbon emissions per year. This step aligns with B. Braun's global target to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030. Additionally, the use of solar panels supports the Indonesian government's efforts to achieve Net Zero Emission by 2060.
The students were also shown the infusion solution production process, from filling to packaging. This process involves advanced technology and high-quality standards to ensure the products are safe and effective in providing smart solutions to address the ever-evolving challenges of the medical world.
"After this visit, we hope to establish good relationships with institutions to absorb the best talents and empower the community to impact national health progress," said Eko Peryatno, Senior General Manager Plant B. Braun Indonesia, during the closing session of the visit.
B. Braun Indonesia is committed to continuously supporting the development of pharmacy experts through comprehensive internship and training programs. Thus, B. Braun Indonesia hopes to contribute to producing competent pharmacy professionals ready to face challenges in the healthcare sector.
This company visit not only provided valuable experiences for the students but also strengthened the relationship between the educational world and the pharmaceutical industry, opening promising career opportunities for pharmacy graduates in the future.
