“Clean Hands, Bright Future": B. Braun Indonesia Shares Expertise on Hand Hygiene with Hundreds of Students

In conjunction with Global Hand Hygiene Day, the elementary school students were shown how hand hygiene could impact their health and academic achievement.

Karawang, May 22, 2025 – Braun Indonesia, a world leading medical technology company headquartered in Germany, held a hand hygiene education event today at Kalihurip 1 Public Elementary School (SDN), Cikampek, Karawang, West Java, to commemorate Global Hand Hygiene Day, observed annually on May 5. The event is part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which aims to make a positive impact in education and health. It involves the active participation of B. Braun Indonesia employees who aim to share expertise and instill good handwashing habits in the students from an early age.

A total of 350 students from SDN Kalihurip 1 received hands-on knowledge on the importance of upholding hand hygiene in preventing the spread of disease.  B. Braun volunteers demonstrated how proper handwashing techniques could improve their health, highlighting the close relationship between hand hygiene, students' learning abilities and their academic achievements.

A clean and healthy learning environment starts with the simple habit of washing hands. Through this initiative, B. Braun Indonesia is taking a proactive step to educate the younger generation about the importance of hand hygiene. The activity also aligns with the 2025 World Health Organization (WHO)'s Hand Hygiene Day theme, which emphasizes the importance of hand hygiene practices in various aspects of life.

Rainer Ruppel, President Director of B. Braun Indonesia, expressed his enthusiasm for this activity. "At B. Braun Indonesia, we believe that education is the key to a better future. Starting with children is a strategic step, because they will not only protect themselves but also have the potential to become agents of change in their families and communities. Good habits instilled from an early age will have a lasting positive impact on their health and quality of life in the future," he said.

"Furthermore, B. Braun Indonesia actively encourages its employees to contribute to the community through volunteer activities, especially in health education as we are doing today," Rainer added.

This "Clean Hands, Bright Future" activity is an important part of B. Braun Indonesia's ongoing efforts to support public health and create a healthier and more empowered generation through CSR programs that are focused on education and health. The active involvement of B. Braun employees as volunteers is also tangible manifestation of the company's culture that cares about the health and well-being of the community.
