Students of Kalihurip Elementary School invited to "Learn by Doing" the Practice of Hand Hygiene

6 December 2022 – Students at Kalihurip 2 Elementary School, Cikampek, took part in the practice of hand hygiene during a public class facilitated by B. Braun Indonesia volunteer team.

The public class itself is one of the sub-activities of the Education Care Program, in cooperation with the Department of Education, Youth, and Sports of Karawang Regency, and 30 companies located in the Indotaisei Industrial Area. During the class, students were presented the importance of hand hygiene to protect themselves from infection transmission, since it is very easy to do; anywhere and anytime and proven medically effective.

"Today, people are familiar with the practice of hand hygiene with water and soap. In certain conditions, when access to hand washing with water and soap is limited, we can still perform hand hygiene by using an alcohol-based hand rub which effectively kills germs in a short time and is safe for daily use," said Sales Saputro, Product Manager of Infection Prevention of B. Braun Indonesia, separately.

Meanwhile, one of the students who performed hand hygiene expressed his excitement for this class. "I am very happy to understand the importance of hand washing for our health. The facilitator also taught us how to wash our hands if we couldn't find clean water. After class today, I will tell my parents and my friends at home," said Zaidan, a fifth grader at SDN Kalihurip 2, Cikampek.

Apart from the public classes, this Education Care Program also delivered 90 sets of studying desk, six computers, 25 segregating trash bins, and 568 bottles of drinking water for students and teachers. The donation was received directly by the Head of the Education, Youth and Sports Department of Karawang Regency, Mr. Drs. H. Asep Junaedi, MPD from the representatives of the Indotaisei Regional Corporate Social Responsibility Forum (“CSR Forum”).

The CSR Forum is a joint forum for companies in the Indotaisei Industrial Area to carry out the corporate responsibility programs for the communities nearby. There are 30 companies joined in the CSR Forum, including B. Braun Indonesia. The collaboration with companies in the same Industrial Area is expected to bring bigger and wider positive impact for the surrounding community. As reflected in the B. Braun's value of sustainability - to be a good corporate citizen for Indonesia.
