Tanjung Pasir Beach: B. Braun Indonesia Team Collected 450 kg of Waste

5 September 2022 – B. Braun Indonesia Team collected 450kg of waste that had polluted Tanjung Pasir Beach, Tangerang, Banten, at the end of August 2022. Not only carrying out beach clean-up actions, but B. Braun Indonesia also donated 15 units of 150 liter trash cans to the Tanjung Pasir TNI AL Post.

This activity reflects B. Braun's six core values which include efficiency, innovation, sustainability, trust, accountability, and diversity.

"Our action today will not solve the waste issue. However, I still hope this action enlighten us to keep the environment clean, start with ourselves and our families. We can start small, such as bringing our own water bottle to reduce the use of plastic bottles or cups," said Rainer Ruppel, President Director of B. Braun Indonesia.

One of the participants expressed her enthusiasm for this beach clean-up action. "I'm so happy to be able to join in a real action like this, especially since this initiation came from where I work. It means that we can create a direct impact on the surrounding community, not just understand it. Hopefully, activities like this can become a routine in the future," said Arnita, one of the participants.

This action is supported by nearly 100 employees of B. Braun Indonesia around Jabodetabek in cooperation with Langit Biru Pertiwi, an organization that focuses on the issue of marine polluting waste. Participants are divided into ten groups and tasked to collecting waste within a specific category. Before the activity started, participants were educated about environmental issues and waste management. By holding a beach clean-up action, B. Braun Indonesia hopes to take part to build the awareness of its employees and actively participate in protecting the surrounding environment.
